How we work
The five commitments
This is the process we've run for twenty-one years, and it's the one thing about 7 Days that has never changed.
- 01
Free on-site estimate
We come to you, Monday to Saturday between 3 and 5 PM, in a thirty-minute window.
- 02
A schedule built for your project
Your project, your timeline. We commit only to dates we can actually hold — and then we hold them.
- 03
Vetted crew on site
Certified professionals who work for us. No subcontractor lottery, no new faces every Monday.
- 04
Daily updates
Photos and progress every working day, so you're never guessing what happened in your own house.
- 05
Walk-through and done
We don't leave until you sign off. Punch list closed before the final invoice.
Scope of work
What we run in a remodel
A remodel is a dozen small projects that have to happen in the right order. This is the set we run in-house, on one schedule.
Sheet
Scope of work
08 items · rev. 2026
Scope and sequence
We write the working order before anything is torn out, so the trades never sit waiting on each other and you know what happens in which week.
Demolition and haul-away
Protected routes, dust control between the work zone and the rest of the house, debris off site the same day it comes down.
Framing and layout changes
Walls opened or added, doorways moved, headers sized, floors levelled, with the load path checked before anything structural is cut.
Rough plumbing and electrical
New runs for the new layout, code-compliant circuits and venting, permits with your town and inspections scheduled by us.
Insulation, drywall and plaster
Board hung, taped and skimmed to a flat finish that holds up under the raking light every New England window throws in the afternoon.
Flooring
Hardwood, engineered or tile, run with the transitions planned in advance rather than covered with a strip at the end.
Trim and finish carpentry
Casing, base, crown, built-ins and doors — scribed to walls that were built by hand a century ago and have never been straight since.
Punch list and hand-back
We walk the whole scope with you, write the list, close it, clean the house, and only then send the final invoice.
Why 7 Days
What twenty-one years actually buys you.
One crew across the whole scope
Framing, drywall, flooring and finish carpentry under one schedule. Nothing waits on another company's dispatcher.
Old houses, honestly assessed
Greater Boston housing stock hides things behind plaster. When we find one, you hear about it the same day, with what it means for the schedule and the price.
We start and we finish
Twenty-one years without abandoned jobs. That is the entire promise the company was built on.
The work
From framing to final trim.
Room-by-room and whole-house projects — demo, framing, drywall, flooring and the finish carpentry that makes an old house look intentional.
Reference builds in the configurations and materials we work in. Photography of 7 Days projects is added here as jobs are completed and released by the homeowner.

on Angi
“I hired 7 Days Remodel & Contracting to replace my deck and repair the front porch. I also needed new kitchen and bathroom flooring and tile on the kitchen counter and upstairs bathroom. Al and his team were extremely professional and multitasked to complete interior and exterior while I was away on military orders. Pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied with the outcome and highly recommend them — Al communicated consistently throughout the process and completed the work as discussed prior to my return and on budget.”
“Al did a great job on our renovation of our three-unit apartment building. He showed up, his team showed up, and everyone was skilled, delivering a great result.”

“The job was done in a timeframe that was shorter than projected. Their team was very professional and did a great job cleaning up behind themselves.”

Straight answers
What people ask before they hand over a house.
Do you take on whole-house remodels, or just single rooms?
Both. Some clients hand us the whole floor plan; others start with one room. Either way the scope, the sequence and the finish date are written down before demo day.
Can you remove a wall to open up the floor plan?
Often, yes — but only after we've looked at what the wall is carrying and how the floor above is framed. If it needs an engineer's stamp, we'll tell you, and that's one of the few things we don't do in-house.
How do you handle surprises behind the walls?
We tell you the day we find it, with photos, what it means for the schedule, and what it costs. No silent change orders discovered on the final invoice.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, with your town's building department, and we schedule the inspections. You don't chase paperwork.
Can we live in the house during the work?
Usually. We dust-wall the work zone off from the rest of the house and protect the routes in and out. For a whole-house gut we'll talk honestly at the estimate about which weeks are hard.
How do I know you'll finish?
Twenty-one years, and the promise the company is named for: we start and we finish. Our reviews say the same thing in plainer words — they start and finish the work.
Beyond the bathroom
Other trades, same shop
Each of these runs with its own partner and its own crew.
- 01
Bathroom Remodeling
Most bathroom jobs go wrong in the two days nobody photographs: the rough plumbing and the waterproofing. That's where we spend our attention.
- 02
Kitchen Remodeling
Kitchens don't stall because of the carpentry. They stall because someone demoed in March and the cabinets shipped in June.
- 03
Interior & Exterior Painting
A paint job fails at the caulk line and the bare spot behind the radiator — never in the middle of the wall.
